In World War II the
infantry called each other by last name… never the first names. The reason
was the casualty rate. So DeAngelo it is!
Memories dim as years go by. Certain things do not.
DeAngelo had, and still has an intense outstanding and incredible sense of
humor. He could make any of us laugh in the midst of an artillery barrage
or tank attack. No one ever figured out what platoon he was in… he was
just all over the company
